Bringing Travel Home: room visualization with mustard upholstery, Japanese textiles and layered rugs

RESIDENTIAL INTERIOR DESIGN · SEATTLE & REMOTE

A home should feel like an honest extension of the people who live in it.

HOLISTIC DESIGN / INTERPRETATION & STRATEGY

Where We Live Influences Who We Become

Every home begins with goals we can name—and others we discover through conversation.

Rooted in a holistic philosophy, my design approach blends storytelling with strategy to create spaces that nurture well-being and reflect the whole person.

The process begins with the people using the rooms: how they gather, where their belongings naturally collect, the objects they want to keep, and what they wish they had room to do. Those observations become decisions about furniture, circulation, material performance, light, cost and timing.

FROM THE PROJECT ARCHIVE

A Home Should Be Able to Hold Our Contradictions

A quiet room oriented toward the water may belong in the same home as a richly patterned lounge for gathering. The designs are connected by the people who live there, even when the rooms offer very different experiences.

THE PERSON BEHIND THE PRACTICE

The designer behind the work

Years in visual art and design education have shaped the way I look at a room. I pay attention to what people say they want, what their everyday habits reveal, and how those two kinds of information can inform the choices we make.
